The Duke Hotel in Gozo boasts modern amenities and a rich history. A residential building until the mid-1880s, the building was eventually converted into a hotel.
Renamed the "Duke of Edinburgh Hotel" by a pro-British Gozitan businessman, the hotel was popular among affluent Maltese and British forces families. The hotel even received a Royal visit from Queen Elizabeth II in 1951. The hotel eventually passed to new owners who transformed it into the 'The Duke Boutique Hotel'.
Today, located in Victoria, Gozo, The Duke Boutique Hotel offers guests a unique blend of old-world charm and modern luxury. Its elegant furnishings and decor pay tribute to the building's rich history. At the same time, its amenities provide guests with all the comforts of a modern hotel. In September 2022, extension works saw the construction of 8 new distinctive rooms, offering a spa experience in one's room.
The hotel's rooms and suites are beautifully appointed. During our 1-night stay, we had first-hand experience of some of the hotel's amenities, including air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and a jacuzzi within our terrace.
The breakfast area at the Duke Hotel Gozo is lovely. With an adjacent terrace overlooking the island, it offers an assortment of continental and English breakfast options. Guests can indulge in freshly baked pastries, cereals, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, and hot dishes like scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausages.
