Timeless Elegance at The Phoenicia Malta
Nestled within 7.5 acres of lush, mature gardens at the gateway to Valletta—Malta's enchanting capital—The Phoenicia Malta offers an almost timeless retreat.
A short stroll from The Phoenicia will lead you to Valletta's shopping heart - Republic Street, major city attractions, and lively waterfront cafes and restaurants. Less than a 20-minute drive from Malta International Airport, its location is as convenient as beautiful. Also, subject to an extra fee, the place is pet-friendly.
The hotel promises a blend of history, culture, and modern luxury. It stands just outside the historic gates of Valletta. The Phoenicia Malta is a beacon of luxury with its sophisticated decor and elegant charm.
One of our favourite parts was a daily stroll in the gardens adjacent to the hotel. Eventually, you arrive near the infinity pool, which is located directly adjacent to the historic bastions.
Whether indulging in the spa's Himalayan salt room, sauna, and steam room or keeping active in the well-equipped fitness centre, the hotel ensures every moment is memorable.
Breakfast at The Phoenix, offering both English and continental options, with fresh honeycomb as our favourite, is the perfect start to any day.

Boutique Luxury at Rosselli AX Privilege
In the heart of Valletta lies Rosselli AX Privilege, housed in a 17th-century palazzo that once belonged to a Knight of St John. This 5-star boutique hotel, the only one in Malta's capital, seamlessly marries Baroque architecture with modern luxury.
We discovered during our weekend stay that the interior is elegant and sophisticated, and the service impeccable. Our spacious and exquisitely furnished room featured a balcony overlooking St. Christopher Street, giving a taste of Valletta's timeless charm.
The highlight of our stay was dining at the Michelin-starred Under Grain, where the tailoring profession deeply influences the ambience—think kitted mannequins and vintage sewing machines amidst luxurious black marble.
Masterchef Malta judge Chef Victor Borg is the Executive Chef at Under Grain. The food matched the luxury of the surroundings, with each dish perfectly portioned and crafted to culinary perfection.
The entire experience at Rosselli is curated to pamper and impress, making it an essential stop for those seeking luxury in the heart of Valletta.

Melior Boutique Hotel is a chic urban retreat in Valletta's bustling streets. With just 18 rooms, it is located above Starbucks Reserve on Republic Street and provides an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere.
The Duplex Suite we used for our two-day stay overlooks the vibrant Republic Street (you cannot miss the wide green balcony above Starbucks) and feels more like a small home than a hotel room, with a kitchenette, small office area and bedroom at the upper level. Breakfast is at Starbucks Reserve.
The interior design, with its dark blue and wood tones, offers a calm yet refined setting, ideal for relaxation and inspiration.
Located in a prime spot, the Melior is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the city's dynamic events and nightlife, albeit with a note that evenings can be lively, echoing the city's vibrant life.

Grandeur by the Sea at Grand Hotel Excelsior
Overlooking the waters of Marsamxett Harbour, the Grand Hotel Excelsior presents a stunning vista. The hotel stands out beside Valletta's fortifications, like a Mediterranean resort and spa.
During our weekend stay, we enjoyed a room with a large terrace and a lavish breakfast of intercontinental and healthy options.
Dining options such as the Tiki Restaurant by the pool and the ability to order directly to your deck chairs ensure that every need is catered to with finesse and style.
