Easter Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls Made Easy

Step 1: Whip Up the Dough

Start with a little magic: combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it bubble up like a potion for about 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, mix your egg, yolk, melted butter, remaining sugar, orange zest, and salt. Stir in the frothy yeast mix, then add flour and cardamom or nutmeg until a dough comes together. Knead until smooth and stretchy – think of it as giving your dough a nice massage.

Let it rest and rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1.5 hours, until it doubles in size and dreams of becoming dessert.

Step 2: Make the Chocolate-Cinnamon Filling

While the dough naps, make your decadent filling. Mix softened butter with brown sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon until it looks like a chocolatey paste you’d happily eat with a spoon (no judgement).

Step 3: Roll, Fill, and Slice

Roll your dough into a rectangle – think 12x18 inches. Spread your filling generously, then sprinkle on those cheeky chopped chocolate eggs and your nut of choice.

Roll it up tightly like a Swiss roll and slice into 12 beautiful swirls. Nestle them into a greased baking dish. Let them rise again while you preheat the oven.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection

Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 20-25 minutes. They should be golden, puffed, and making your house smell like a Parisian bakery.

Step 5: Make the Hazelnut Icing

Melt your NOVI chocolate and mix it with cream cheese and butter until you have a smooth, glossy icing. It's rich, nutty, and dangerously good.

Step 6: Decorate and Devour

Drizzle your rolls with the chocolate icing while they’re still warm, then go wild with crushed mini eggs, edible flowers, and whatever makes your Easter heart happy. (Optional: drizzle with white chocolate and dust with glitter. Because why not?)
