The Original Variety Bucket contains 4 Original Recipe Pieces, 2 Original Recipe Strips, 4 Hot Wings, 2 Portions Fries, and 2 Portions Onion Rings. We decided to replicate this by using the same chicken pieces, which means 2 chicken thighs, 2 chicken drumsticks, half a chicken breast sliced into strips, and 4 chicken wings. We also added the fries and onion rings for completion’s sake.

Ingredients

Chicken coating

240ml buttermilk

200g all-purpose flour

65g cornstarch

2 eggs

Olive Oil spray

Spices Blend

3 tbsp paprika

1.5 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

2 tsp ground ginger

2 tsp dried mustard powder

2 tsp black pepper

2 tsp salt

2 tsp celery salt

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp dried basil

Method

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients, i.e., flour, cornstarch, and spices, in a large bowl.

  2. Mix the eggs and buttermilk in a separate bowl.

  3. Wash the chicken pieces and dry thoroughly

  4. Preheat the Cosori Airfryer by using the preheat function on your appliance.

  5. Dip the chicken pieces into the liquid mixture (buttermilk and eggs). Drip to make sure any excess is removed

  6. Cover the chicken with a dry coating. Make sure the chicken is thoroughly coated with the dry mixture coating by pressing the blend deeply into the chicken pieces.

  7. Spray the Cosori basket with oil spray (olive oil is our choice). We also like to spray the chicken pieces, covering each area of the chicken.

  8. Cook chicken for 12 minutes at 180oC on each side. When turning the chicken, spray the chicken again.

  9. The chicken is ready when it is golden brown.

We love this Cosori Air Fryer chicken recipe and think it is easily comparable to a deep-fried chicken recipe without excess fat. It is best to serve immediately, and we recommend sides of fries, onion rings and grilled corn on the cob. Mashed potatoes would work as well.
